The final stop on my Sicily 2017 trip was the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, on the southern side of the island. This site was part of an ancient Greek settlement with many ruins, including the largely intact Temple of Concordia.
Also in this series of shots, a Girgentana goat with its corkscrew horns, leading some to suggest a connection to Markhor Goats from Pakistan, possibly introduced during the Arab conquest. An orange grove cultivated using traditional methods. Oranges were also introduced to Sicily during the Arab Conquest.
