A walk from the centre of Palermo to the harbour and back through the back streets.

My images begin at Fontana Pretoria, walking through Quattro Canti, heading southwest past the 12th-century Cathedral. I then passed through the Porta Nuova, with its Moorish statues and entered a less picturesque part of the city.

My brief stay would be rewarded with still waters and near-perfect light as the setting sun bounced off the old town.
