Rome 2018 - Via Appia

Taking a train south from Rome to Santa Maria Delle Mole. I was there to walk the famous Appian Way, an ancient Roman road that connected the capital to southern Italy.

Arriving at a tourist information booth, the advice was to walk a section and return to Rome by train. But I resolved to walk back to Rome along the Via Appia, jumping on an outer Metro station to finish the return journey. Here are some images from that walk back in time.
