I was there to walk the famous Appian Way, an ancient Roman road that connected the capital to southern Italy.

A short train ride west of Rome, Ostia Antica is the preserved site of the ancient port of Ostia, which served as the primary port of the imperial capital.

This week I bring night shots of Rome, starting at the Spanish Steps, Castel Sant'Angelo, and finishing in St Peter's Square, Vatican City. Cheers, Stuee

It was the first full day in Rome, the final destination in my 8-week epic trip around Italy, and I was off to the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine and the Palatine Hill.
