Athens 2025 - Anafiotika & Agora

Continuing my exploration after descending from the Acropolis, I wandered through Anafiotika, a beautiful neighbourhood at its foot. Originally built for construction workers who came from the islands in the nineteenth century to refurbish the Greek King's palace and is part of the historical neighbourhood of Plaka.

From there, I walked to the Agora, the ancient Greek meeting place in Athens, which features the Temple of Hephaestus. The Orthodox Church on the site is more recent.
