Athens 2025 - Monastiraki

Athens was the first stop for my 2025 trip to Greece and other Balkan countries.
I arrived at my accommodation in Zografou, an eastern suburb of Athens. I was a few hours too early to check in, so I was forced to haul my luggage around with me while killing some time. I headed back to the nearest Metro station and proceeded to the centre of Athens.
Getting out at Monastiraki Metro Station, I found myself in the Greek Capital's tourist hub. Transitioning from a long-haul international flight to this high-energy location was a bit of a challenge. Undeterred, I decided to take some photos with my compact camera, rather than unpack my usual setup.
The following images were taken during a walk around a couple of blocks close to the Acropolis.
