Taormina 2017 - First Glimpse

A short train trip North along the coast from Catania, to the other side of Mt Etna, brought me to the stunning town of Taormina. On the map, it looked like a short walk from the train station to my accommodation, but in reality, it was a steep climb to my destination.

After checking in, I went for my obligatory random walk. I noticed a strong army presence around the town, which seemed odd. Weeks later, I would see that the G7 summit was being hosted there.
