This is the final blog post from Venice on my 2018 Italy trip.
Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge) is the oldest of the four existing bridges spanning the Grand Canal. It has been rebuilt several times, originally built as a pontoon bridge in 1173. The current structure dates from 1591. It connects the San Marco and San Polo districts with shops on the covered ramps.
I have included a bonus video about this beautiful city and the relentless pounding it takes from mass tourism and climate change.
Next week I travel to Padova (Padua in English)
Cheers, Stuee
