Burano

It was my third day in Venice. The weather was terrible, but with only two days of my stay left, I decided to catch a ferry to the little island of Burano.
Burano, not to be confused with Murano, is another island in the Venetian Lagoon. Known for its lacework, colorful buildings, and fishing. Even in dull, overcast weather, the color of the buildings pops. As one story tells it, the buildings are differently colored to help drunk fisherman find their way home without stumbling into the wrong house.
The third image in this series shows a fisherman sorting through his catch of crabs for the highly valued Moeche soft-shelled crabs, which are only available in spring and autumn when the local crabs shed their shells.
Cheers, Stuee
