I started with the tombs of Dante and Theodoric the Great, and there are also more mosaics.

On my first day, I visited the Basilica of San Vitale, and around the back in a smaller brick building is the Mausoleo di Galla Placidia.

What struck me was how similar these ancient people were to us. Also, depictions of sea creatures could be found in facsimile at the local
